The morning sermon was by Dr. Louie D. Newton, pastor of Druid Hills Baptist Church from 1929 - 1968. He was known as “Mr. Baptist” and had preached the sermon for the ordination of Clarence Sessions.
Dr. Newton was born in Screven County, GA in 1892 and died in Atlanta in 1986 at the age of 94.
